Lace up for fun walk away from drugs

The fun event is open to anyone of all ages

PUT your walking shoes on, put together your best anti-drug ensemble and get ready for the annual SANCA/Bay Watch Eyethu Walk Away from Drugs event on Saturday.

The fun walk starts and finishes at the Zululand Yacht Club in Meerensee, and is open to anyone of all ages.

Registration starts at 7am at the yacht club before the day’s festivities and activities get underway.

There will be a taekwondo demonstration at 8.15am, followed by a warm-up by uMhlathuze Boot Camps.

The walk begins at 9am and the route heads over the steel bridge and onto Naval Island where walkers will turn around and head back to the yacht club.

Everyone is encouraged to dress up according to the theme ‘The 11th Hour’.

The morning promises to be a fun one for all, with spot prizes and some trophies, including for the best dressed team and the school with the most entrants.

Entry fees are just R5 for children and R20 for adults, and all proceeds go to SANCA Zululand.
