Pedestrian killed in Mtubatuba
The three women were about to cross the road when the deceased suddenly ran out in front of the car
AN evening out for three friends turned into tragedy on Friday when a 26-year-old woman was fatally hit by a car in KwaMsane.
The incident occurred at about 9.30pm at KwaBhoboza.
According to KwaMsane SAPS spokesperson, Captain Jabulani Mdletshe, the driver of the vehicle saw the woman, identified as Nombuso Dlamini, and two friends holding hands and about to cross the road towards a local tavern.
He said Dlamini suddenly let go of her friend’s hand and dashed into the road.
The driver swerved to avoid her, but was too close.
Dlamini died on the scene and her body was taken to the Mtubatuba state mortuary.
A case of culpable homicide has been opened.
