KWAMSANE police have opened an inquest docket following the drowning of a 57-year-old woman and her three-year-old grandson in the Mfolozi River on Friday.
According to KwaMsane SAPS spokesperson, Captain Jabulani Mdletshe, Nomusa Khumalo and Jabulani Cele left home at about 11:30am to collect water from the river.
‘They did not return home and were later spotted by a cattle herder floating in the river,’ said Mdletshe.
They were already dead and their bodies were to the Mtubatuba state mortuary.
No foul play is suspected.
