Nomalungelo Mtungwa (53) was found dead at her homestead at Mduku Reserve on 13 July at about 6pm

AN unusual murder mystery was solved last week after Hluhluwe police followed up on information that led to the arrest of two suspects in a harrowing killing case that took place at a home in Mduku Reserve in Hluhluwe.

Nomalungelo Mtungwa (53) was found dead at her homestead at Mduku Reserve on 13 July at about 6pm.

It is reported that a local man came across the Nomalungelo’s sister, who is mentally-ill, walking alone on the road.

Since it was late, the man decided to take her to her home.

On arrival, he knocked but no one answered, and he instructed the sister to open the door.

To his surprise, he found the deceased lying dead on the floor in the kitchen with a rope on her neck.

The deceased’s body was in a semi-decomposed condition and the neighbours and the police were called.

It was also established the deceased was staying in the house with her husband who is also ill since he had a stroke and could not walk or speak.
