Warm Zululand welcome for OLLI cyclist

Wayne Bolton received a standing ovation as he entered the Thula Thula gates

Zululand’s very own Thula Thula Private Game Reserve played host to Wayne Bolton, his life-like fibreglass rhino OLLI and the rest of the One Land Love It (#OLLI2017) team on Thursday, 20 July.

Wayne Bolton, who is cycling 2000km to raise money and awareness in the fight against rhino poaching, received a standing ovation as he entered the Thula Thula gates, along with his support vehicle (proudly sponsored by Avis Van Rental).

Staff, management and even the guests were thrilled to welcome Wayne in their midst.

OLLI the life-size fibreglass rhino was the centre of attention and everyone wanted to take their picture with him.

A few symbolic formalities also saw Francoise Malby-Anthony, Managing Director of Thula Thula, sign the Scroll of Unity in Conservation, as well as adding a ring to OLLI’s horn. Each game reserve on Wayne’s route adds a coloured ring to OLLI’s horn and at the end of his journey, OLLI will bear 20 rings in all the colours of the South African flag.#jointcustody

Thula Thula Private Game Reserve was the OLLI team’s third stop in Zululand. Next in line is iSamanagaliso Wetland Park, followed by Hluhluwe Umfolozi Park.
