Rotary makes a difference for Bay NPOs

Five local NPOs benefited from the Rotary Club of Richards Bay's annual grant evening

EVERY year the Richards Bay Rotary Club hands over an annual grant to various Bay non-profit organisations, and this year was no exception as five grants were handed over to grateful beneficiaries.

Richards Bay SPCA, Amangwe Village, LifeLine Zululand, National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI) and Lungelo Youth Development benefited this year.

S’phe Mlungwana of the LifeLine Zululand Zululand receives the Rotary grant.

The SPCA, Amangwe Village and LifeLine Zululand each received a grant of R5 000, while the NSRI’s grant had been handed over in October and Lungelo Youth Development was handed the paperwork to a new Defy stove to help with the feeding scheme at the centre’s crèche.

‘Although this is not a huge amount of money, the Rotarians and Rotary Anns have to fund-raise and work very hard in their quest to help the plight of the physically disabled, with Rotary’s flagship project being wheelchairs,’ said Rotary Club of Richards Bay President Louis van Zyl.
