Nongoma water purification plant expansion nears completion

Plasti-Tech has been mandated to do the R1.8-million job

THE Zululand District Municipality is in the process of expanding its Usuthu Water Purification Plant in Nongoma to increase output by 20 mega-litres per day by September.

The plant was first commissioned two years ago as part of a long-term project established by the borough to address the water and sanitation issues aggravated by the severe drought.

‘This project has necessitated the involvement of civils, mechanical and electrical services and supply, overseen by project stakeholders, Isimo Project Engineers, Stefanutti Stocks and Water Purification Chemical & Plant (WPCP), who have been in the water treatment works business for 15 years,’ said Plasti-Tech Managing Member, Bradley Chamont.

Plasti-Tech has been mandated to do the R1.8-million job.
