New Ngwelezana school seeks help

New school option for local learners

ASSISTANCE is being sought by the private constructors of an English-medium Christian school in the heart of Umhlanga Reserve area outside Ngwelezana township.

The area falls under Madlebe Traditional Authority.

Umhlanga Christian School is scheduled for opening in January 2018 and will be especially accessible for learners from Ngwelezana, Dumisani Makhaye Village and Umhlanga 1&2.

‘Quality education that includes a CAPS approved syllabus will be available at the doorstep of this fast developing residential area.

‘We are committed to education and academic success in partnership with students, parents and the community,’ said principal Rakila Naidoo.

‘Within this joint venture, we will provide each student with the knowledge, skills and attitude to set them on an upward education course for the future.

‘This initiative will bring about convenience for the local scholars that travel out of their suburb and will be effective in terms of cost and time saving for both the parents and learners.’

With an initial intake of about 150 learners in 2018, classes will be offered from grade RR to Grade 4 and thereafter growing up to Grade 7.

An earnest appeal is made to all major companies and prominent businesses to financially assist in the final construction phase of the school.

‘The form of assistance can be financial, assisting in covering the cost of constructing a 66-metre retaining wall, putting up the perimeter fencing and furnishing including desks, chairs, tables and office equipment.

‘In providing low education fees the school management will also award local underprivileged learners with school bursaries that will cover their school, book, stationery and tour fees for the year,’ said Naidoo, who can be contacted on 083 4568859 or 081 5414946.
