Zululand youth exposed to career and entrepreneurship information

eSikhaleni youth receive valuable information on various careers and entrepreneurship

TO empower the local youth, an educational and career expo was held in eSikhaleni on Saturday, spearheaded by ward 16 Councillor Thami Phahla.

‘With the high rate of unemployment confronting the youth, the event helps them receive information on careers and how to get into tertiary institutions,’ said Phahla.

‘Education is the key, but when people don’t have an idea how to acquire it, it becomes a problem.

We need to create opportunities for the youth and ensure they learn about the prospects out there,’

The expo also included information on entrepreneurship, how to start a businesses, funding opportunities and various skills programmes.

The youth received valuable entrepreneurship information from Nompumelelo Ndlela of the Zululand Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ZCCI).

Relevant government departments and private sector stakeholders within the broad youth enterprise network were also part of the programme.
