SAVF make great strides for Tekkie Tax Day

The annual national charity fund-raiser was a success in Richards Bay

TEKKIE Tax Day is an annual national charity fund-raiser during whiich people show their support for one of five charity categories – animals, bring hope, children, disability and education – by buying and wearing shoelaces, stickers or T-shirts, or all three, one day each year.
This year’s Tekkie Tax Day was on Friday and the Richards Bay Suid-Afrikaanse Vrouefederasie (SAVF) organised an event at Meerensee Mall.
While the SAVF ladies sold the goods, local singer Daniel Hoffmann provided the day’s entertainment.
It was a successful day, supported by many local residents.
Falling under the ‘bring hope’ category, SAVF spends the money it raises on our community’s most vulnerable, from children to old age pensioners and everyone in between.
A sterling example within our community, Irma Dreyer, was last year recognised and awarded for walking the extra mile during her 2016 Tekkie Tax fund-raising efforts.
