BREAKING: Ex police officer gunned down in Empangeni

The 56 year old victim is said to have been shot a number of times

A 56-year-old man who is said to have formerly worked as a warrant officer for the Empangeni Public Order Policing (POP) Unit was gunned down outside his home this afternoon in Roan Place, Nyala Park, Empangeni.

His body was found next to the side of his home by a school minibus driver who was dropping off the victim’s grandson.

While reports are still unclear at this stage, a number of neighbours told the ZO that they heard four to five gunshots just after 1pm this afternoon.
