Top surfers expected to compete in annual Ballito Pro next month

Ballito to showcase world surfing talent

SURFING legends such as Jordy Smith, Josh Kerr and Nat Young will be making their way to the warmer winter waves, competing in the annual Ballito Pro presented by Billabong from 27 June to 9 July.

Recent Oi Rio Pro ace Yago Dora and 2015 Ballito Pro winner Alejo Muniz will be back for the 49th edition of the world’s longest running professional surfing event, now offering a prize pool of R3.4-million.

The women will not be forgotten and they will showcase their talent in the QS1000 Ballito Women’s Pro, while the Billabong Junior Series caters for the U18 surfers.

The high performance action kicks off with the Billabong Junior Series from 27 to 29 June.

This will be followed by the Surfing SA Trials on 30 June and the Ballito Women’s Pro on 1 and 2 July.

Then it is time for the biggie, the QS10000 Ballito Pro, from Monday to Sunday, 3 to 9 July.
