Business breakfast explores expansion

Particular focus was placed on the retention of such employees to improve relationships within a business

BUSINESS Partners last week hosted a networking breakfast at the Umfolozi Casino Resort to generate ideas and identify opportunities to improve growth and engagement among local businesses.

Chaired by Regional Manager of Business Partners, Byron Jeacocks, the meeting comprised of a variety of local business people who participated in an in-depth discussion on the challenges that face SMMEs and larger corporations within the region and country.

The consensus reached was the importance of employee satisfaction, acknowledging their contribution and ensuring that they are entitled to an improved lifestyle.

Particular focus was placed on the retention of such employees to improve relationships within a business, benefitting partnerships with suppliers and buyers and improving businesses collectively throughout Zululand.

Jeacock placed emphasis on the Zululand Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ZCCI). ‘The Chamber of Commerce is required to be more active, providing a platform for businesses to grow and expand.’

Jeacocks also acknowledged that businesses need to understand that their products must be supplied at an affordable price, ensuring that local companies have preference to those outside the region, therefore stimulating expansion and growth within the area.
