Crime-busting information day a winner for everyone

Aimed at bringing various industry stakeholders together as a show of united force in the fight against crime

THE Arbovlei Community Policing Forum (CPF) Community Day held at Arboretum Primary School has been heralded a ‘huge success’ by those who facilitated the event.

Aimed at bringing various industry stakeholders together as a show of united force in the fight against crime, it also allowed community members to engage with various security industry role players and departments within the SAPS.

Members of the police, Fidelity ADT, Alpha Alert and Tracker presented crime-fighting tips and educational talks covering a variety of subjects.

An anti-hijacking demonstration was well-received, as were guest speakers such as Arbovlei CPF Chairman Davie Coetzee, who used the event as a platform to share the vision of the CPF committee and its members.

The younger members of the community enjoyed a jumping castle, food stalls and a foam party at the end of the day. Fidelity ADT Richards Bay’s Les Rungasamy said the company was happy to have been a part of this initiative.

‘We were delighted by the wonderful turnout, which shows that the Arbovlei community members take crime prevention seriously.’
