A MZINGAZI family on Thursday night watched in horror as two house robbers broke down their front door, charged into their house and assaulted their 11-year-old child.
According to the Richards Bay SAPS, the child was ‘kicked quite badly’ before the men searched the house for firearms and ended up taking only a purse.
They then forced one of the adults outside, but fled after hearing ‘a bang’.
The next day, one of the suspects was spotted near a tavern and community members immediately apprehended him.
He is in the custody of the SAPS.
