More to see on Eastern Shores of the iSimangaliso Wetland Park

More infra-structure opened on Eastern Shores section of iSimangaliso Wetland Park

VISITORS to the Eastern Shores section of the iSimangaliso Wetland Park will now have another loop road on which to travel.

Although only 2km in length, it is important as it leads through a forest section of the park.

The Eastern Shores now has loop roads through its five major biomes.

The dune, grasslands, vlei and pan loops cover the other vegetation biomes.

Also on the forest loop is a picnic site and the kuMfazana hide which overlooks a shallow pan, providing ideal birding opportunities.

The project was constructed by Kwikcorp and overseen by MBB Consulting Engineers, who were represented at the road opening by Terry Davids and Edwin Jenkins respectively.

Also officiating at the ribbon cutting was Raymond Mfeka and Mrs Gumede (treasurer and chairperson of the Bhangazi Development Trust), iSimangaliso Board Chairperson Buyani Zwane and iSimangaliso CEO Andrew Zaloumis.
