Mtubatuba single mom stroke victim needs support

Her life changed dramatically when she suffered a stroke on 4 December that left her in a coma until mid-January

A MTUBATUBA resident who cares for her parents and three children – including twin toddler girls – is dealing with life-altering symptoms after suffering a stroke.

The community has now come together to open a trust account, raising funds to assist Antgulla Smith (40), a well-known manager of a popular store in the town, after she has been left partially paralyzed.

Her life changed dramatically when she suffered a stroke on 4 December that left her in a coma until mid-January.

At the moment she is conscious, but cannot walk or talk.

As she is unable to work, her employers ended her salary and medical aid benefits at the end of February, leaving the family in dire straits as she was the sole breadwinner and her elderly parents are unable to work.

Her twins are two and her son 17.

A trust fund has been opened at Scheepers, Spies, Mdaka Attorneys in Mtubatuba (FNB, account number 5309 0052 044, branch code 220330. Use the reference number SF75).

Anyone who is able to help is asked to contact Desiree on 082 8243063.
