GOOD rains over the last seven days have provided further relief to the Lake St Lucia System.
The system’s main water source, the Mfolozi River has been flowing strongly after good rains in its catchments and the lake is filling up after the severe drought of a few months ago.
All areas of the iSimanagaliso Wetland Park recorded good rainfall over the last seven days.
In the far north, 79mm was measured at Kosi Bay.
The uMkhuze Game Reserve Section had a very welcome 57mm.
False Bay recorded 106mm over the seven days, while Mission Rocks and Charter’s Creek received 109mm and 95mm respectively.
The highest rainfall in the Park fell at St Lucia where 163mm was measured.
