Roadworks continue

City of uMhlathuze’s significant road maintenance effort is continuing at pace

THE City of uMhlathuze’s significant road maintenance effort is continuing at pace.

The Road Rehabilitation Programme began in March last year and is making steady progress, with the Richards Bay CBD streets the focus of the past few weeks.

While minor traffic inconvenience was experienced, motorists were pleased at the improvements to the aging, potholed and worn road infrastructure.

The industrial city’s roads take an exceptionally hard pounding from heavy duty vehicles and the municipality is making a multi-million rand investment into the refurbishing programme.

Good news for businesses in Alton, where conditions are among the worst in the city, is that Kraft Link, Eutectic Point and Geleiergang are next on the agenda for repair.
