Foundation asks non-profits to pitch for funding

Financial aid opportunity for local NGOs

THE uThungulu Community Foundation is inviting funding proposals from non-governmental and community-based organisations located within the King Cetshwayo and uMkhanyakude districts.

To qualify for grants, applicants need to submit a list of project details before 31 March and prove their plan of action will be sustainable.

Non-profits are required to send a project bank statement, project profile and constitution and a copy of a registration certificate.

They also have to show that the organisation has a reliable management structure, have a market for produced goods and services, demonstrate past achievements and provide a record of its operations.

‘The types of community projects we hope to support financially include those focusing on social justice, youth development, early childhood education and disability programmes,’ said foundation CEO Chris Mkhize.

‘But we do not fund salaries, buildings, labour, functions, office rentals, school fees or bursaries, petty cash, travel allowances, individuals or project ideas and events.

‘If applicants are not contacted before 30 June, consider the application as unsuccessful.’
