ZCBF appoints stand-in leader

Patterson named for ZCBF interim position

THE Board of the Zululand Chamber of Business Foundation (ZCBF) has unanimously approved the appointment of Mike Patterson as caretaker manager of the ZCBF for a period of up to three years, in order to ensure continuity and stability.

This follows the untimely death of the ZCBF Executive Manager, Dave Whittaker, which left a leadership vacuum at the organisation.

The appointment, with immediate effect, will allow adequate time for a suitable successor to be recruited, trained, mentored and coached by Patterson.

As the current chairperson of the ZCBF Board, he has agreed to accept this appointment in the interest of ensuring that the ZCBF continues delivering on its social mandate.

Patterson comes with in excess of 30 years of experience in leading business, the BAC, ZCCI and ZCBF.

Joey Kunji-Behari, currently the deputy chairperson of the ZCBF, will act as chairperson of the Board until such time as the Board makes a permanent appointment.

Business Against Crime

The Board of Zululand Business Against Crime (BAC) has also announces Patterson’s appointment to manage BAC for the immediate future, stating this step will ensure continuity in the efforts to curb crime.

‘Mike was President of the Chamber when BAC was conceived.

‘Under Cornel Moll, who succeed Mike as Chamber president, BAC Zululand came into being; funded by farsighted leaders at RBM, BHP, Mondi, RBCT, Foskor, Bell Equipment, Leomat and others.

‘Under Mike, BAC will continue to facilitate inter departmental co-operation within the Criminal Justice System and between it and the public and private stakeholders, in order to continue the campaign against crime,’ said a BAC Board statement.
