TWO suspects, aged 36 and 51, have been arrested in Mahlabathini for being in possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition on Wednesday morning.
Members of the King Cetswayo Cluster Crime Intelligence unit, Empangeni Sub-Office and Northern KZN Project, arrested the men while conducting an operation in the Saku area near Ulundi after receiving information from the public.
Two 9mm Norinco pistols with their serial numbers filed off and 13 live rounds of ammunition were found.
Further investigations established that the firearms came from a KwaMashu hostel.
