THE self-proclaimed ‘agent of Satan’, Sandile Welcome Xulu (24), who raped and robbed at least four women, will never again be a free man.
This after the Pietermaritzburg High Court handed down a sentence last week of four life terms in prison, as well as 60 years after he was found guilty of four counts of rape, and four more of robbery.
Xulu, who infamously accused State prosecutors of lying about the charges in court and laughed and joked throughout early proceedings in Empangeni Regional Court, was given a life sentence for each rape and 15 years for each count of robbery.
Xulu earned the name of ‘Satanic rapist’ because he warned his victims he was an ‘agent of Satan’ and would cast a curse that would make snakes grow in their bellies if they reported the attack to the police.
