GUNMEN opened fire on the home of Umfolozi Municipal Speaker, Dan Mfusi’s Mzingazi in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
The suspects unleashed a hail of bullets into his property at about 2.30am but fortunately no one was injured or harmed during the shooting.
Mfusi said 29 bullet cartridges were recovered from the scene and his house sustained enormous damage as the gunmen fired into the windows, roof and walls.
At the time of the incident, he was at home with his six children.
He confirmed that he had not received any recent death threats.
