Long and loyal service acknowledged

Bell commends long service employees

SPECIAL recognition was given at a long service luncheon hosted this week by Bell Equipment to honour staff who have completed 10, 20 and 30 years of unbroken service.

A total of 57 employees from the Richards Bay factory and Empangeni Customer Service Centre were honoured.

Bell Group Chief Executive, Gary Bell told the employees: ‘Achieving these awards is no mean feat and it really shows your loyalty to the business and your strong sense of belonging.

‘Around the world it is becoming the norm for employees not to stay with one employer for 10 years because they move on, so it’s gratifying to have people who have been with the company for 30 years or more.’

Delegates were joined at the luncheon by the Managing Director of Bell Equipment Sales, Bokkie Coertze, who also celebrated 30 years of service, having started working at Bell Pietermaritzburg in September 1986.

Gary Bell paid tribute to Bokkie and his wife, Anna, for ‘a lifetime contribution to Bell’.

Several employees were invited to reciprocate with words of thanks to the company.

They included Bokkie Coertze (30 years), Tim Beningfield (30 years), Sibonisiwe ‘Tilly’ Ncanana (20 years), Thulani Mngomezulu (20 years), Gordon Peters (10 years) and Rene Heystek (10 years).
