For members of the Richards Bay Christ Embassy church, birthdays are not only celebrated at fancy gatherings but through making positive contributions in their community.
In celebration of their pastor’s birthday last week, this congregation spoiled the homeless with a special lunch before conducting a clean-up campaign at the town’s main taxi rank.
This service was an act of kindness with an aim to make a great impact in the lives of the disadvantaged.
‘We wanted to do something different, and we have a lot of homeless people in Richards Bay. We wanted to touch them and celebrate with them,’ said church leader Gov Qhamu Mntambo.
‘Because of the state of the rank in Richards Bay, we thought it would be beneficial if we conduct a cleanup there. We worked together the City of uMhlathuze who provided us with approval to conduct the campaign, cleaning material, plastic bags and gloves to ensure safety,’
