These boots were made for walking

uMkhuze Conservation Manager, Eduard Goosen, said there is an increased focus on the actions of field rangers

RANGERS stationed in the uMkhuze section of the iSimangaliso Wetland Park received an early Christmas present with the delivery of safety footwear.

The BBF Safety Group (BBF), manufacturers of safety footwear, donated 55 pairs of Rigger boots to the staff of uMkhuze Game Reserve.

The donation valued at over R40 000 was gratefully accepted by Clive Dickinson, Honorary uMkhuze Officer who distributed the boots to the field rangers and support staff.

Vanessa Ronald, BBF Senior Brand Manager, said they felt privileged to be in a position where they are able to positively contribute towards making a difference within the community.

She said BBF are proud to support the uMkhuze Game Reserve staff and the wonderful work they do.

‘We share their dedication and commitment to protecting our beloved rhino,’ she said.

uMkhuze Conservation Manager, Eduard Goosen, said there is an increased focus on the actions of field rangers who protect the rhinos in the veld.

‘The team work incredibly hard in the fight against rhino poaching and we are extremely grateful for the much-needed donation of Rigger boots.

‘BBF’s support makes it possible for our staff to operate as efficiently as possible,’ said Goosen.
