KING Cetshwayo District Municipality Mayor Nonhle Mkhulisi visited Queen Nandi Hospital (Lower Umfolozi War Memorial Regional Hospital) in Empangeni on Friday morning to create a partnership and identify priority programmes at the hospital.

‘We need to join hands for the benefit of our communities. The municipality is part of the community and has to work for the people.

‘Today’s visit is to get a feel of what patients want, the service they receive and if it is of quality standard,’ she said.
Mkhulisi applauded the high standard of hospital facilities.

High Risk Clinic operations manager Sr Buhle Ngxongo and Dr Ileana Popa brief Mayor Mkhulisi about the hospital’s facilities

‘We are happy about the state of this hospital and it should be something we are proud of. The cleanness and hygiene is even better than some private hospitals,’

A task team of municipal and hospital members will soon be formed to assist in identifying problems and implement programmes which will have a positive impact on local communities.
