Case of man’s rape postponed

A video of them allegedly sexually assaulting the man went viral on social media, sparking their arrest.

THE case of three women accused of raping a 27-year-old man at a Hluhluwe home was postponed last week.

Provincial spokeswoman for the National Prosecuting Authority, Natasha Ramkissoon-Kara, on Wednesday confirmed the matter will again be heard on 24 November.

‘The case was postponed to allow for further investigation,’ she said.

All three women were released on R1 000 bail earlier this month.

A video of them allegedly sexually assaulting the man went viral on social media, sparking their arrest.

The man, who did not wish to be identified, told the Daily News the incident had left him very angry and he would not be able to forgive the women.

He was allegedly called to the home of one of the women, who he said he has known from a young age, to fix an electrical fault.

One of the women was hiding behind the door and allegedly attacked him soon after he arrived, he said.

The video shows one women pinning him down on a bed while the incident unfolds. The women, who are between the ages of 21 and 27, can be heard shouting at him and laughing.

They are facing charges of sexual assault, conspiracy to commit sexual assault and have also been charged under the Film and Publications Act for filming the incident.
