WATCH: One dead, four injured in Brackenham crash
Early morning crash leaves one dead, four others hospitalised
ONE person has died while a further four were injured in a crash earlier this morning (Saturday) in Brackenham.
The accident occurred on the R619 near the Brackenham robot intersection.
According to Richard Schouten of IPSS Medical Rescue, the white BMW flipped over, coming to a stop on its roof in the storm water ditch by the side of the road.
‘Sadly one occupant of the vehicle was declared dead on scene. We transported two patients, one critical and another with less serious injuries, to Ngwelezana Hospital,’ Schouten said.
‘Both other patients were in a serious condition and taken to Netcare The Bay Hospital and Ngwelezana respectively,’ he said.
The ZO has seen reports on social media of traffic backing up in the area and motorists are urged to rather avoid the scene until it has been cleared.
