Earth Organization discusses environmental challenges

The organisation was founded by world-renowned conservationist Lawrence Anthony

INTERNATIONAL Chapter representatives of the Lawrence Anthony Earth Organization gathered at the Thula Thula Exclusive Private Game Reserve outside Empangeni this week.

The organisation was founded by world-renowned conservationist Lawrence Anthony.

As the members are spread throughout the world, the conference provided an opportunity for the members to meet each other and share experiences.

The conference focused on the organisation’s achievements and a strategic plan for the next five years was discussed.

Representatives from the USA, Europe and Autralia attended the three-day conference, which was led by international president Barbara Wiseman.

Besides introductions by the attendees highlighting their activities and fields of expertise, there were also papers delivered on issues close to LAEO’s heart.

These included examining solutions to the world’s fresh water problems, solutions to oil and other toxic spills, and technology for hugely improving quality and quantity of crop production without the need for chemical pesticides or herbicides.

The conference ends tomorrow (Friday) evening.
