Matrics encouraged to utilise libraries to study

Arts and Culture MEC urges matrics to use libraries as they prepare for their final examinations

Arts and Culture MEC Bongiwe Sithole-Moloi is urging matrics to use the department’s libraries in preparation of their final examinations which commence at the end of October.

She wants Grade 12 pupils to take advantage of the peace and quiet offered by the libraries and use the facilities as sources of information and as study areas.

She encourages pupils to consider the arts as a career choice as the field is integral to the development of society and culture.

‘It also offers endless creative and professional opportunities.

‘Considering the future aspirations and financial circumstances of learners, the department is offering bursaries to those who wish to further their studies within specific art-related fields in 2017.

‘Applicants must be from KwaZulu-Natal and the full bursary advertisement and application form can be found at the department’s website, www.kzndac.gov.za. The closing date is 30 October.

‘We wish the class of 2016 every success in their exams and in their future endeavours. We also thank our hardworking teachers, parents and guardians for their support during this important time,’ said Sithole-Moloi.
