Fatal crash claims cop
He was on his way home from Durban when the collision occurred
A FATAL car crash on the N2 claimed the life of a Richards Bay police member on Sunday.
Captain Ndumiso Freeman Ngwane (57) was on his way home from Durban when the collision occurred at about 7pm at Bridge 12 (Nyoni).
Capt Ngwane, who worked in the Human Resources Management financial section, joined the SAPS as a constable on 11 July 1985 in Mount Ayliff.
He was promoted through the ranks to sergeant , then warrant officer and then to captain in July 1995.
Capt Ngwane was married to Vuyelwa Mavis Ngwane and they have four daughters.
A memorial service is being held at the Brackenham Community Hall at 10am today (Thursday).
