No injuries in Grantleigh school bus accident

Pupils safe and sound after collision on N2

A Grantleigh Schools bus was this morning involved in a fender-bender near the Nseleni River Bridge on the N2.

Witnesses say that at around 7.15am the driver of a bakkie overtook a large truck at an intersection and did not see the school bus in the oncoming lane.

‘Fortunately there were no injuries and there was a smooth transition from the bus to one of our other buses,’ said Grantleigh Schools Principal, Shaun McMurtry.

‘All pupils and staff arrived at the school safe and sound at 7.45am.’

Last month, 50 school children between the ages of 15 and 18 were injured when the school bus they were travelling in rolled down an embankment near Umbumbulu south of Durban.
