uMlalazi water supply woes continue

Consumers complained of inadequate explanations or often no reply at the complaints line

ON top of water restrictions due to ongoing drought, eShowe residents have had to put up with sporadic water interruptions owing to a broken pump at the Kwahlokohloko Pump Station.

The water services authority for the region, King Cetshwayo District Municipality, has issued a statement informing uMlalazi residents of the problem.

This comes after numerous posts on Facebook complaining of a lack of response to queries over the last two weeks.

Consumers complained of inadequate explanations or often no reply at the complaints line.

In the statement, the municipality says that uMlalazi wards 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 24, 25, 26 and 27 have experienced water disruptions and low water pressure.

The municipality said the problem is receiving priority attention and it is hoped to have the situation normalised within another week.

‘The pump is being repaired and we appeal to the community to be patient until it is re-installed,’ read the statement.
