Mayor promises service delivery
There was a delay to the proceedings when IFP councillors objected to armed security guards
UMFOLOZI Mayor S’mangaliso Mgenge says his municipality will continue to provide proper service delivery to the community, especially in the rural areas where water supply remains a critical issue.
Speaking at the mayoral inauguration at the municipal hall last Tuesday, Mgenge thanked the municipal leadership for placing their faith in him.
There was a delay to the proceedings when IFP councillors objected to armed security guards brought into the hall by Municipal Manager K Gamede.
Cllr S’mangele Thabethe was elected as the Deputy Mayor and Cllr Zakhele Mfusi re-elected as Speaker.
