Rural pupils off to Sweden

The two-week visit to Sweden is part of a networking and exchange programme

TWO pupils from Khombindlela High School in Ngwelezana are brimming with excitement about their forthcoming educational trip to Höllviken High School in Sweden.

The duo, members of the Student Council at Khombindlela, are Grade 9 pupil Sanelisiwe Cele and Grade 10 pupil Nontobeko Luthuli.

School Principal Nokuthula Ntuli said the two-week visit to Sweden was part of a networking and exchange programme designed to improve teaching and learning at Khombidlela High School.

‘We are delighted to be part of the Star for Life exchange programme linking our two schools. We will be going there as a group of five, comprising of myself, two teachers Njabulo Mngoma and Bhekizenzo Sithole and the two learners.

‘We will be attending classes to observe the teaching and learning experience in the Swedish school. We chose these two learners because of their achievements in mathematics and geography.

‘Their selection had nothing to do with gender, but was based purely on merit. They are our top achievers. We want them to go there and return to share the knowledge they will gain at Höllviken ,’ said Ntuli.
