Anti-human trafficking campaign cautions Ricardia pupils

Freedom Generation SA rolls out anti-human trafficking training to Bay school

STATISTICS show that many primary school children are already sexually active and some are already receiving treatment for pornography addiction.

This was according to Pastor Caroline Pitout, speaking to the senior phase of Ricardia Primary on Wednesday morning.

Pastor Pitout, founder of the anti-human trafficking organisation, Freedom Generation SA and Captain Debbie Ferreira of Richards Bay Police Station, addressed pupils on the dangers of human trafficking, how to prevent becoming a victim and where to find help.

Pastor Pitout spoke frankly to the pupils about watching pornographic material, which is now easily accessible and generates billions of dollars in funding for human traffic syndicates.

‘Boys are now especially being targeted.

‘Children under 14 are too young to use Facebook – you post selfies, identify your school and use the location function, without knowing that you are placing yourself in danger.

‘Traffickers work from a shopping list – if you fit the profile they want, they will know where to find you.’
She also reminded children that there is safety in numbers.

‘When you were small, your parents told you to never walk alone, but now you do, because you think you are big.
‘Don’t do it. You have no chance against big strong men.

‘Stay together and don’t become an easy target.’
