Hluhluwe taps run dry

The town has been experiencing water supply interruptions for months now

LIFE without water has now become a daily occurrence for the Hluhluwe community.

Matters first came to a head the day before the local government elections on 3 August when Hluhluwe and surrounding areas experiencing serious water supply problems.

Community members say the situation has become so bad that on Wednesday morning many households only had chocolate brown water coming out of their taps.

The town has been experiencing water supply interruptions for months now since the introduction of water restrictions because of low dam levels as a result of the drought.
