THE ANC Youth League in the Musa Dladla Region was disbanded on Friday following the leadership vacuum left after Chairperson Philani ‘Sxaka’ Mthethwa was expelled earlier this year.
The decision to disband the league was taken at a REC meeting in Ulundi.
Deputy Chairperson Nathi Xulu was handed the interim leadership role, but this failed as a result of irreconcilable differences among league members who refused to work with him.
The region has appointed a task team to lead the youth.
Two leaders, Nathi Xulu and Phiwa Mhlongo, were appointed convener and coordinator respectively.
The two are tasked with representing the youth in all the organisational structures until the new leadership is elected at the congress to be held in October.
