SANCA car wreck stolen in Empangeni

Last week they were shocked to receive a call from Alpha Panelbeaters, asking if SANCA had removed the car.

SANCA Zululand officials are at a loss for words – with good reason.

The wreckage of a car placed on the corner of Frank Bull and Main Roads in Empangeni as a visual reminder to motorists of the risks of driving under the influence, was stolen.

For the second year running, SANCA teamed up with Alpha Panelbeaters’ Andries van Loggerenberg to place the wreckage at the site.

Last week they were shocked to receive a call from Alpha Panelbeaters, who had arranged to tow away the car after the conclusion of SANCA Week, asking if SANCA had removed the car.

A police case will be opened to locate the wreck, bearing the registration number ND 660390.

‘It’s a horrible thing to happen,’ said SANCA Director, Shireen Sahadev.

‘Its sad that Alpha had to lose the vehicle after supporting us. We are going to get the police involved and would like to ask community to come forward and let us know if they have seen anything.’
