Generous gestures benefit orphans

The women ministry of Open Door Assembly Church in Aquadene recently visited the Bonisanani Community Orphanage to hand over donations of food, clothing and blankets.

SHARING goodwill with a neighbouring community, the women ministry of Open Door Assembly Church in Aquadene visited the Bonisanani Community Orphanage in eNseleni recently to hand over donations of food, clothing and blankets.

The women identified the project earlier this year and have made regular visits to help the community initiate a vegetable garden project and identify the maintenance needs of the houses in which 17 children and their house mother, Gogo Shabalala, live in.

Donations of food and clothing were collected by members of the Open Door Assembly, with Premier Foods Group donating 50 loaves of bread and the Zululand Observer charity arm DICE (Do I Care Enough?) sponsoring 17 blankets and pillows for the children.

Congregation members spent the day with the children, prepared breakfast and lunch, hosted games and interactive sessions and ministered the word of God to them.
