THE Khombindlela High School management has distanced itself from an after party gig which is said to be organised by the school’s matric students.

School Principal Nokuthula Ntuli told the Zululand Observer that the school wished to clearly state its position as far as the issue of the after party and its marketing was concerned.

‘We vehemently distance ourselves from this party to be held at the Wave Café in Empangeni on Thursday (today) as was advertised on social media.

‘What we know is that we will be having our matric ball on the same day at Empangeni’s Protea Hotel from 6pm until 11pm. We have asked parents to provide transport to ferry their children to and from the venue.

‘Our experiences with these after party events is that they expose students to acts of violence, stabbing and drinking. Our message to the parents and the entire community is that this is not in our name.’
