Cheating wife calls in cops for rescue

He told police how the man immediately ran when he saw him, while his wife hastened to the bathroom

A SPAT between a husband and wife turned into a full-blown police exercise on Tuesday afternoon when the husband caught his wife with another man.
The wife, apparently fearing for her safety, called the police, reporting an armed robbery in progress at the Shell garage on Main Road in Empangeni.
Flying Squad vehicles were dispatched, only to find her locked in the bathroom while her husband waited at her car.
The husband explained to officers that he had followed his wife to the garage, where he confronted her while she was seated inside her vehicle in the company of another man he believes to be her lover.
He told police how the man immediately ran when he saw him, while his wife hastened to the bathroom.
The names of the couple have been withheld to protect their privacy.
One witness who was busy filling his vehicle with fuel said he got quite a shock when police arrived with sirens blaring.
‘I thought it was the quietest armed robbery in history,’ he joked.
