EFF sets the record straight on ‘misinformation’

The feisty EFF leader is scheduled to visit eSikhaleni Mall on Saturday to deliver the party's manifesto to the local people.

THE EFF’s uThungulu regional branch called a media briefing in Empangeni on Monday to address alleged ‘public misinformation’ regarding the pending visit of EFF president Julius Malema.
The feisty EFF leader is scheduled to visit eSikhaleni Mall on Saturday to deliver the party’s manifesto to the local people.
EFF uThungulu Regional Chairperson Bheki Shabane said the media briefing was their response to media reports claiming the aim for Malema’s visit ‘was to obliterate the ANC’s history by destroying the monument erected opposite the mall’.
‘We are calling on the ANC to desist from making unfounded accusations about the EFF. We appeal to the people of eSikhaleni and surrounding areas to come and listen to our leader deliver the party’s manifesto.
‘We assure the people they will be protected, as the EFF is a peace loving movement,’ Shabane said.
Secretary Nkululeko Ngubane added, ‘We further encourage our members to protect themselves if they are attacked.’
The local leaders further also expressed their dismay about music artists Hlengiwe Mhlaba and L-Vovo scheduling shows at eSikhaleni TVET College on Saturday, claiming it to be a transparent attempt to prevent people from coming to listen to Malema’s speech.
‘We also want to warn the ANC to desist from its intimidation tactics, because we will not fold our arms and watch them terrorising our members,’ said EFF Treasurer KS Hlabisa.
