Convicted for robbing school

The 30-year-old stole R5 640 worth of household items from his targets.

THE Empangeni Magistrates Court sentenced Sphelele Mngomezulu to three years imprisonment for two counts of housebreaking.

He was arrested in January this year following the first incident, was subsequently release on bail and was then rearrested after he broke into Mabhuyeni primary school weeks later.

The 30-year-old stole R5 640 worth of household items from his targets.

Mngomezulu pleaded not guilty on both charges, which both occurred between last December and March this year.

The court sentenced him to three years imprisonment on each count, to run concurrently, and he will serve an effective sentence of three years.
