Resorting to violence condemned

'We all become losers when our libraries and laboratories are reduced to ashes' - Dr Madoda David Mabunda

DURING the University of Zululand Faculty of Arts graduation ceremony in KwaDlangezwa on Tuesday, graduates were advised to maintain peace when faced with challenges.

Giving the keynote address, Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife CEO, Dr Madoda David Mabunda, encouraged the youth to exercise patience and cease from violence.

With protests escalating across the country, the main message was one of peace when faced with diversity

‘We all become losers when our libraries and laboratories are reduced to ashes. History will judge us very harshly for acting with such indiscretion,’ he said.

‘As you graduate today and embark on your path of leadership, you should ask yourself what kind of leader you will be? How much impact on others will you have? What mark will you leave in the world?

‘Together we say #LeadershipMustRise. We look up to you, as a new generation, for fresh direction,’ he said.

SRC President Wandzile Mathebula urged students to never forget their parents and those who made it possible for them to study.

‘Look back and take care of your families once you find employment. Contribute to your parents’ well-being by giving them financial assistance like they did with you,’ he said.
