Skeleton found in burnt sugarcane field

Police seek help in identifying skeleton

A SKELETON was found by a community member in a burnt sugarcane field behind Fleurdale on Wednesday.

On examination, it appeared the bones had been lying in the field for some time.

According to information received there was a person who he had been living in the field.

The man, whose identity is unknown, was last seen last year by workers on farm, who confirmed that the person had walked with a limp.

The skeleton has two metal pins in the left ankle.

The cause of death is unknown, but it is possible that the person died due to exposure to the elements or sickness.

An inquest docket has been opened and will be investigated by eShowe detectives.
