Wife shoots policeman husband dead

Sergeant Sihle Shandu was shot and killed in his Mtunzini home on Saturday

A 35-year-old woman will today appear in the Mtunzini Magistrate’s Court facing a charge of murder following the fatal shooting of her policeman husband on Saturday.

Sergeant Sihle Shandu (39), who worked in eShowe, was shot multiple times during what is believed to have been a domestic dispute and later died in hospital.

According to Mtunzini SAPS spokesperson Lieutenant Sibusiso Guma, police were summoned to the couple’s home at around 7pm.

‘At this stage it is believed the suspect used her husband’s service pistol,’ he said.

He could not confirm reports the shooting had occurred in view of their children.
