#Save that drop

Unizulu students' unite to spread a strong message of saving water

IN response to the crippling drought affecting the region, the University of Zululand (Unizulu) students held a water awareness drive in KwaDlangezwa last week.

The campaign was spearheaded by the Hydrology Society.

Under the slogan ‘Save that Drop’, the programme was aimed at spreading a strong message of the importance of water.

Students marched around the campus distributing pamphlets with water saving tips.

‘The university has a high usage of water and it’s important for us to spread the message and share information on how we can be part of the solution,’ said Hydrology Society Chairperson Siphelele Siyaya.

‘We wanted to educate others to be on the lookout for any leaks around the campus and use water wisely. It is our responsibility to ensure we save water and understand it is life-giving,’ she said.
